Dreams Deferred 2017

Visual Art Exchange Raleigh

"Dreams Deferred" is a collabor-ation between Ariyah, document-ary photographer Veronique Moses, and the Triangle com-munity. The first element of the exhibit is Ariyah and Veronique's photographs of six subjects describing their own dreams deferred. Each portrait draws on one of six images in Langston Hughes's poem, "Harlem."

The second element is an inter-active and evolving installation. Exhibit visitors record their own dreams on clouds hanging from the ceiling. This community art piece literally and figuratively reflects our collective dreams, striking a profound statement about interconnection.
